My name is Paul R Cowled. I'm currently based in Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory. I grew up in Country New South Wales and joined the Army in 1987. It was in the Army that I was introduced to a Nikon FM2, T400 black and white film and hours in the darkroom. Flash forward to the era of digital imagery and I regained my love of this artform in 2013. I'm obsessed with photography and experiencing people, places and things. My goal is to reinvent myself as a Fine Art Photographer.
Currently I mainly shoot with a Leica M10P and manual focus prime lenses. I see in 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, 90mm and 135mm. I augment that with a number of other cameras, depending on the job at hand, including a Leica M9M and a GoPro. What I have learnt in my journey alongside technology is that the camera does not make an image, the photographer makes the image.
